I started Tai Chi in September 2018 after being always enamored of the Tai Chi practitioners going through their routine in the park in San Francisco’s Chinatown. I signed up for both Tai Chi and, four months later, for Flamenco (!) but in the end it was too difficult to do both. Tai Chi won out.

It started with CMC 37 Short Form, the most common form in the US but after two years, after doing the whole sequence, I switched to a different group whose focus was upon a more martial form of the art. Yes, I know it is not kosher because you are supposed to do CMC 37 for many years (10+ years seriously?) before trying anything like sword training, but heck, I don’t have 10 years 🙂

So that’s when I got into 108 Long Form as well as Tai Chi Jian…

I then added treadmill in 2023 after my blood pressure went up enough to require meds, which I didn’t think was acceptable. More pills really? So now I include treadmill though I hate it and if it was not for Jane the Virgin or The Sopranos I would not be able to sustain such a tedious exercise!
